Leadership

Mid-Atlantic GC, Inc. was founded under the leadership of John G. Maroulis. John emigrated from Greece with his family as a young boy. He spent his teenage years painting with his father and ultimately started his own painting company. From this humble beginning, he founded Mid-Atlantic GC, Inc. and began performing government projects.

Throughout the years, he has expanded Mid-Atlantic into an entity performing multi-million dollar government construction projects. He has also increased his own knowledge of the construction industry through education, hands-on experience, and the desire to provide the best possible outcome for all clients, no matter what size the project.

He has managed multiple high-profile projects, including numerous projects at each of the following:

  • State Department
  • Naval Research Laboratories
  • Naval Surface Warfare Center
  • Ariel Rios Building (USDA)
  • Andrews Air Force Base
  • Pentagon
  • Fort Myer

  • University of Maryland Campuses throughout the state
  • Howard Country Public Schools
  • Anne Arundel County Public Schools
  • Baltimore City Public Schools
  • Rocky Gap State Park, including the construction of multiple green buildings
  • Many other commercial endeavors

He recently managed a task order entitled “Lower Level Pier A Security Checkpoint at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport” which won the 2013 Maryland Quality Initiative Modal Award of Excellence and the Overall 2013 Maryland Quality Initiative Project of the Year Award. His personal commitment and hands-on approach to quality construction practices, safety and quality issues, and cost efficiency is readily apparent in every project Mid-Atlantic performs.
